The south coast of the island of Sula, southwest of Losna, offers a fully exposed section through the uppermost parts of the Nordfjord-Sogn detachment zone. Particularly clear are the brittle fault rocks, which lie above mylonitic and phyllonitic rocks along a narrow strip by the coast.
The fault zone is easy to identify along the coastline, where it separates the Devonian conglomerates, exposed in steep coastal cliffs, from the fault rocks below.
