Børekletten

Børekletten is a rounded, dome-shaped mountain built up of conglomerate. At its base, the rock is in contact with the Solund–Stavfjord ophiolite complex, which represents ancient ocean-floor crust. Børekletten is one of three similar heights located along the boundary of this ancient ocean-floor crust.

During the last Ice Age, the ophiolite was eroded and formed the distinctive strandflat along the coast. Traces of wave erosion can be clearly seen in the contact zone at the foot of Børekletten.

If you choose the circular route, you will get a fine view of the strandflat and the islands to the south. The walk is less than 1 km long and is suitable for most members of the family.
