This is a fine walk to the Skaraly day-use cabin, through mylonite in the shear zone (the Nordfjord–Sogn detachment zone) and up to the Dalsfjord fault. The area around the cabin offers a particularly fine view towards Litlehesten and southwards across the landscape of Hyllestad. It is clear how the schist-rich mylonites in the detachment plane are more vulnerable to erosion than the conglomerates, creating steep cliffs and drops down towards the faults.
